New Plan Gas.Ar tender award
Buenos Aires, December 15, 2022. Pampa Energía S.A. (‘Pampa’ or the ‘Company’; NYSE: PAM; ByMA: PAMP) informs that yesterday, the Secretariat of Energy auctioned volumes and prices for all the productive basins under the Argentine Natural Gas Production Promotion Plan (‘Plan Gas.Ar’)’s fourth and fifth rounds.
According to the reported prices at the bid opening, Pampa would be awarded a daily volume of 4.8 million cubic meters of gas at US$3.485 per million BTU, which represents 44% over a total of 11 million cubic meters per day to be transported by the new Néstor Kirchner Gas Pipeline first tranche as from July 2023. Moreover, Pampa successfully extended its 9 million cubic meters per day of production commitment ¾awarded in the former rounds¾ until December 2028 at the original bid prices.
Hence, Pampa’s base commitment has been raised to 14 million cubic meters per day, increasing to almost 16 million cubic meters per day by the following winter of 2023. This addition represents a significant growth of 44% compared to the same period in 2022, contributing to the peak season gas supply. The awarding date is scheduled for December 22, 2022.
Mr. Gustavo Mariani, CEO of Pampa, stated: ‘The growth in gas production and the new gas pipeline will allow Argentina to secure the domestic supply, increase economic activity, create jobs and save foreign currency. This new Plan Gas Ar round contributes to meeting these objectives. Moreover, the production increase also enables gas exports to improve the country’s trade balance.
